KNews.id- Head of the Advocacy Team for Victims of Human Rights Violations (HAM), Hariadi Nasution, claimed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands has received reports and files related to the shooting incident of six FPI troops by the Indonesian police.

“I need to explain, the form is not a lawsuit, but we have submitted all information reports related to gross human rights violations to the ICC, and the ICC said they have received all the files well,”  said the man who is familiarly called Ombat, Friday (22 / 1).

Not only the shooting incident of six FPI Laskar, Ombat said the ICC had also received a file of reports on alleged killings by Indonesian security forces during the May 21-23 2019 demonstration.

According to Ombat, the report was deliberately sent so that the ICC would see an indication of the chain of violence perpetrated by Indonesia’s state security apparatus.

“As it has become a permanent policy by the Indonesian regime,”  he said.

Furthermore, Ombat admitted that he was still waiting for the follow-up and further process from the ICC. Not only to the ICC, Ombat admitted that he also sent reports of the shooting of the six FPI soldiers to the Committee Against Torture in Geneva, Switzerland on December 25, 2020.

The report was sent because Indonesia is bound by the Anti-Torture Convention which has been ratified by Law Number 5 of 1998 concerning Ratification of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

“In terms of the struggle to uphold law and justice and human rights, we will continue to make efforts deemed necessary and in accordance with the mechanisms,”  he said.

The incident of clashes between the police and six FPI Laskar guarding Rizieq Shihab took place at the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road on Monday (7/12) in the early hours of the morning. In this incident, six FPI members were shot dead by the police.

Each group submitted a claim on the incident, both from the FPI and the police. Right after the incident, Komnas HAM immediately launched an investigation. Months later the Komnas HAM investigation team concluded the incident at the end of 2020 was a human rights violation. (AHM)
