KNews.id- The government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has just offered a toll road and bridge project worth Rp 21.56 trillion to the private sector. The offer is opened for two projects at once under the Government and Business Cooperation (PPP) scheme.
The two projects in question include Gilimanuk-Mengwi Toll Road and the replacement and/or duplication of the 38 Calendar Hamilton (CH) Bridge in Java Island. For Gilimanuk-Mengwi Toll Road the investment value touches Rp 19.35 trillion, while the CH bridge in Java Island is worth an investment of up to Rp 2.35 trillion.
Head of Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR Danang Parikesit said, Gilimanuk-Mengwi Toll Road which stretches for 95.51 km will be the second section on the island of Gods after Bali Mandara whose purpose is also for the development of tourism sector, especially western and northern Bali.
“The potential that is expected to develop is the tourism sector of Western and Northern Bali, especially increasing connectivity from Gilimanuk Port to Metropolitan Sarbagita which often experiences congestion. This toll road is also part of the development of the Trans Java-Bali Toll Road which will be connected from Banten to Banyuwangi, East Java and continued to Bali,” explained Danang.
For the mechanism of return on investment the toll road project will use User Based Payment or UBP with a concession period of 45 years with construction starting in 2021-2023 and will be fully operational in 2024.
“The construction is done gradually divided into 3 (three) sections, including two-wheeled vehicle lanes along 41.3 km in sections II and III,” said Danang.
Danang said, The initiator of Bali-Mengwi toll road is from PT. Source of Mighty Rhodium, PT. Cipta Sejahtera Nusautama, and PT. Bumi Sentosa Dwi Agung is a consortium. The system used in the project is Prakarsa Auction. Danang said that currently the initiative letter has been published by the minister of PUPR.
After the market sounding event, the Ministry of PUPR will deliver an update on the Gilimanuk-Mengwi Toll Road project and 38 CH bridges until the pre-qualification stage.
“In the middle of rotocol, we also remind you to keep working and productive. We carry out the development of this infrastructure with health rotocol to protect health and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he said. (AHM)
