KNews.id- Indonesia has certainly not been sanctioned by FIFA in connection with the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy that killed 131 people on October 1 last. President Jokowi is known to have received an official letter from FIFA regarding the second biggest tragedy in football in the world.
“This letter from FIFA is a follow-up to my telephone conversation with FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, on 3 October 2022. Based on the letter, thank God, Indonesian football has not been sanctioned by FIFA,” said President Jokowi in a press statement uploaded on the Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube channel, Friday (7/1) night.
However, President Jokowi emphasized that the Indonesian government together with FIFA will form a transformation team for Indonesian football.
