Here is David Engel’s Profile, the Australian Expert Who Dare To Call President Jokowi “Stupid”!

KNews.id- An expert from Australia, David Engel called President Jokowi the word “stupid”, in an article he wrote on the ASPI website on March 1, 2022. This then became the spotlight of the Indonesian people because of his horrendous statement.

David Engel, in an article he wrote, called President Jokowi a “stupid” because the official statement made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi regarding Indonesia’s attitude towards the East European conflict, was considered too risky by him.

So who is David Engel who dares to call President Jokowi “stupid”, here is the profile of the expert.

Quoted from the official ASPI website, aspi.org.au, Dr. David Engel is a senior analyst in Indonesia in the ASPI (Australian Strategic Policy Institute) Defense and Strategy Program.Long before that, David spent 30 years of his life in the Australian Public Service, primarily in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. David has served twice at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, most recently as Minister-Deputy Head of Mission.

David has also served as Advisor at the Australian Embassy in Washington and as Second Secretary at the embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Currently, he serves as Assistant Director General, Southeast Asia, in the former National Assessment Office, as well as Assistant Secretary for Policy Planning, Assistant Secretary for Global Issues, and Desk Director for DFAT Indonesia.
