Eight Countries Refuse to Support Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine!

KNews.id- Russia’s invasion of Ukraine caught the world’s attention. Not a few countries have criticized the actions of President Vladimir Putin who invaded Ukraine. Even so, a number of countries openly defended Russia’s actions. They even support the steps taken by Putin.

At least five countries have admitted to supporting Putin’s move to invade Ukraine. They were none other than Moscow’s allies.The following is a list of countries that rejected criticism and supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:

Belarus

Belarus merupakan sekutu Rusia dalam invasi ke Ukraina. Bahkan, mereka menggelar latihan perang bersama Rusia dan memberi jalan militer Rusia ke Ukraina.Putin dikabarkan sempat berkomunikasi dengan Presiden Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko sebelum melancarkan invasi ke Ukraina. Putin juga disebut memberi informasi terkait situasi yang terjadi di perbatasan Ukraina dan Rusia.Rusia dan Belarus bahkan sudah menggelar latihan militer sejak jauh-jauh hari invasi ke Ukraina. NATO melaporkan bahwa Rusia menempatkan hingga 30 ribu tentara di Belarus.

Venezuela

The country that also openly defends Russia is Venezuela. The day before Russia invaded Ukraine, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro publicly declared his side with Putin.According to Maduro, Russia is a country that must be respected. With Maduro siding, Russia-Ukraine and NATO tensions are increasingly being felt in the European region.

Syria

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad has expressed his support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Syrian presidential office said the support was conveyed by Assad during a phone call with Putin on Friday (25/2).”During the phone call, they talked about the situation in Ukraine and the special military operation by the Russian Federation to protect the civilian population in the Donbass region,” Assad’s office said in a statement.Russia and Syria are indeed allies. Russia has long supported the Assad government from the onslaught of the United States military who wants to overthrow it.

Myanmar

From Southeast Asia, the Myanmar Military Junta claimed to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, under the pretext of state sovereignty. This support is given amid the increasing escalation of fighting and the efforts of the international community trying to defuse the crisis in the Eastern European country.”Russian troops have done the right thing to defend their sovereignty,” said Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for Myanmar’s military junta.Russia and Myanmar are known to have warm diplomatic relations. Moscow is Naypyidaw’s main ally and arms supplier to the country’s military.

Cuba

Cuban-Russian relations have been established for a long time. In 2008, Russia was the first country to send aid after Cuba was hit by three hurricanes.Meanwhile, regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President of the Cuban National People’s Power Assembly, Esteban Lazo, emphasized that Moscow has the right to defend itself and NATO must guarantee the security that Russia demands.

India

To date, the Indian government has not taken a stand on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In fact, opposition groups have asked the Indian government to condemn Russia’s action against Ukraine.The pressure from the opposition came a day after Indian students were killed in an attack in the city of Kharkiv. It is known, Russia is indeed one of the countries that supply weapons to India.

The Chinese government also rejected Russia’s move against Ukraine as an invasion and urged all parties to refrain from responding to the martial law situation in Eastern Europe. The statement that Russia’s action was not an invasion was made by Chinese Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying, in Beijing.“You are using the typical Western media questioning method using the word invasion,” Hua said.

Iran

Iran is also one of the countries that refuses to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said he regretted the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but that the crisis was rooted in NATO provocations.“The Ukraine crisis is rooted in NATO provocations.
