KNews.id- The reforms by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are reflected in the education system. Recent research reveals that the kingdom has recently removed anti-Israel and anti-Semitic content from textbooks. Examples of content removed include mentions of Jews as monkeys and pigs who worship Satan, and descriptions of them as natural traitors and sworn enemies of Islam.

Content such as reports on the Zionists’ use of women, drugs and media to achieve their goals and conspiracies according to Israel’s plan to expand its borders from the Nile River in Egypt to the Euphrates in Iraq were also removed from textbooks.A new study, which examined changes made this year in the Saudi curriculum, in relation to the last five years, found a continuation of the trend of positive changes in textbooks with respect to anti-Israel and anti-Semitic content. Progress was also made on gender issues, content was added regarding efforts against the Iran-backed Hezbollah and Houthis and against the Muslim Brotherhood movement, as well as more tolerant content introducedResearch conducted by the International Research and Policy Institute IMPACT-se in London, which investigates and analyzes the content of textbooks in the world to promote peace and tolerance according to UNESCO standards, includes an analysis of 301 textbooks published in the last five years by the Arab Ministry of Education Saudi.

The most significant change that has been made is the negative attitude towards Jews, with almost all examples of anti-Semitism in the book being removed completely this year. For example, songs about the opposition to Jewish settlements in Palestine were removed. The assignment asking students to reject Zionist claims about their relationship with Palestine was also removed. A high school history book omitted lessons about the positive outcomes of the first intifada and called Israel a “fraudulent democracy.”
